The gray-green tone of period uniform cloth is carried by the acrylic paint Italian WWI Uniforms Tela Grigio Verde from Lifecolor, intended for painting figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
The name of the shade describes both the object and the color: tela is cloth, grigio verde gray-green. It is a water-based acrylic paint from the Lifecolor figure range, that is a shade built for small areas and thin coats, not for the large areas of vehicles.
The gray-green and khaki fabrics of the First World War period lie in a narrow band of brightness and saturation. On the palette the shade therefore looks unassuming, and that is exactly its purpose. On a figure in a small scale a markedly saturated green behaves unconvincingly, whereas a grayed tone holds the impression of worn cloth.
It will be appreciated by figure painters who paint figures from around the First World War and want period cloth without exaggerated contrast. It goes well with the leathers and khaki tones of the same range, because all of them sit in the same subdued band, so the transitions between areas hold together. It also serves where a scene has several figures and the individual uniforms are meant to differ by a shade and not by a whole color world.
Store out of the reach of children and ensure a supply of fresh air while painting.
