The faded position of a green tone: Lifecolor Faded Green is an acrylic paint for the areas that got the most sun, rain and dust. In the line it stands as the lightest link of the green trio.
Responsibility details are not available.
The acrylic shade Faded Green does not stand for a whole model but for one particular situation: a green that is no longer new. The maker offers it as a separate item beside the richer greens of the same range, so the faded tone does not have to be put together on the palette every time and will not shift between two models.
Fading is not a simple lightening. The tone loses saturation at the same time and turns toward gray-green. When a rich green is merely brightened with white, the result reads chalky and cold, because white takes color away evenly whereas the sun takes it away unevenly. A ready faded shade already carries that shift within it, and the transition between a rich and a faded area therefore looks like the work of the weather rather than two unrelated coats.
It will be reached for by modelers of figures and vehicles alike who grade a single tone and do not want a whole area at one saturation. It also serves well where a scene is meant to hint at the season or the length of service.
Stir the paint thoroughly before work. Store it in a closed container out of the reach of children and out of direct sun.
