Leather on a model never has a single color: the acrylic Lifecolor Leder Braun covers the brown position of equipment, boots and holsters, which use does not bleach but deepens.

The designation Leder Braun is the German phrase for leather brown. The acrylic paint Leder Braun is aimed at equipment, bags, boots, holsters and harnesses, that is at the material that ages differently from weave on figures and vehicles alike.
That is the main reason brown leather cannot be handled with the same logic as faded cloth. Textile loses color in the sun and lightens. Leather, by contrast, is polished and darkens where kit or a hand rubs against it, while on the bends and edges, where it cracks and dries out, it lightens. A map of two opposite changes on one object thus appears, and it is exactly that which makes leather believable. A mid brown position is therefore the starting point from which you go in both directions: toward a darker tone on the places smoothed by use and toward a lighter one on sharp edges. Start straight away with the dark or the light variant and one of the directions is lost.
It will be appreciated by those who make figures with rich kit, and by modelers of dioramas where leather is seen close to. It works well in a pair with a lighter brown tone for scuffs and with the dark position for polished places.
Stir it well before use. Store it closed, out of the reach of children and out of direct sun.
