What color this is

Musta Black is the black of the Lifecolor UA modeling range; the number in the name is the designation of the shade within the range and makes it easier to match with painting instructions that refer to these numbers. Black belongs to the colors that are used differently on a model than one would ordinarily imagine: large areas in pure black look like a hole without shape, whereas on small parts, in shadows and as a ground under dark shades it is irreplaceable.

Application

Stir the contents of the container thoroughly before use, as settled pigment will otherwise shift both the tone and the coverage. Apply several thin coats instead of one heavy one; black has a high covering power, so a heavy coat will only flood the engraved lines and the surface detail. If you want a black area to stay readable, brighten it slightly with gray or brown once it has dried, so that shapes and edges stand out on the model.

Thinning and cleaning

The composition of the paint is not stated here, so follow the data on the packaging: use the thinner intended for this range and keep to the thinning ratio the manufacturer prescribes. Clean the airbrush and the brushes with the same thinner immediately after work, as a dried black will then be hard to get out of the nozzle. Close the container carefully.
