A Lifecolor acrylic paint in an earthy green-khaki tone, named in French. In the group of French-named shades of the same range it fills the role of the basic area: it is the color that covers the larger part of the surface and that the darker and lighter fields of the camouflage only then follow on from.
With multicolor camouflage it is precisely the basic shade that decides the result. When it is applied unevenly, it shows through under the other fields and breaks the impression of a single finish. It therefore pays to devote more time to it than to the colors that follow: to apply it in several thin coats, to let it dry properly and to check whether the area looks the same over its whole extent, not only where the work has just been done.
