The graded gray schemes of American ships rest on a lighter tone such as US Navy WWII Haze Gray 5 H from the Lifecolor acrylic range. A water-based acrylic paint for the upper parts of superstructures and the vertical surfaces of US Navy models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A lighter gray shade of the US Navy from the Lifecolor acrylic range. The letter and number designation in the name belongs to the period system of shade designations of the US Navy, and the maker takes it over as it is. The paint is acrylic, water-based.
Lightness instead of position
American schemes dealt not only with what was vertical and what horizontal, but also with height above the water. The higher an area lay, the lighter the shade it got, so that the superstructures were lost against the sky while the darker tone lower down merged with the sea. This shade is precisely the medium to lighter member of the series: it suits the upper parts of the superstructures, the bridge and the funnels, or the whole vertical surface where a scheme worked with a single lighter tone. It does not belong on the horizontal surfaces here either; the decks have colors of their own.
For modelers of American ships who want to grade the gray by height rather than paint the whole model in one tone. In larger scales it also proves itself as the lighter member of a pair when playing out areas on which a uniform color would look dead.
Keep out of the reach of children, work with good ventilation and close the container carefully after use.
