A deposit of dust on a vehicle is never just one color, and Dust Type 1 offers the first of a pair of dust tones: a water-based acrylic paint for the dusty surfaces of models.
Responsibility details are not available.
Dust has color. It looks one way on a vehicle that has driven along a dry field track, another on a machine standing on a gravel airfield and quite differently in a sandy landscape. Dust Type 1 is a water-based acrylic paint for the first of those positions, and in the range it has a counterpart in the second dust type, so a modeler can choose which tone fits the reference.
Why dust is not applied all at once
Dust effects work in layers. An even area of one color looks like overspray, whereas repeated fine deposits on the horizontal surfaces, around the running gear and under protrusions create the impression that the dust gathered in some places and not in others. It pays to work from less to more and to judge the area from a distance between the individual deposits. The difference between a dusty model and a merely dirtied one lies precisely in whether the deposit is readably tied to the terrain the vehicle stood in.
It will be reached for by modelers of military vehicles and makers of dioramas who want dust under control and not to rely on chance. It will also serve well those who work with figures and need to dust boots, trouser legs and the lower part of the equipment.
Do not swallow the paint; keep out of the reach of children. Ventilate and protect your airways when spraying.
