A paint from the Lifecolor modeling range, listed under the designation UA755. The name of the shade, Worn Out Hemp, refers to worn hemp fiber, that is, to a faded yellow-beige tone with a grayed cast, such as old canvas and a well-used rope have. Against a pure beige it is more subdued and less rich, which is exactly what makes canvas believable on a model.
You will reach for it everywhere a model carries textile or natural fiber: tarpaulins and canvas sheets on vehicles, rolled camouflage nets, straps, rigging on ships, sacks and canvas covers on a diorama. It also works well as a lighter base that is then darkened locally with an oil line, so that a shadow arises in the seams and folds. On the raised edges of the folds the same shade lightened with white and applied with a dry brush will then draw in the smoothed places where the cloth is most worn.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before every use, as the pigment settles at the bottom when it stands. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio as instructed by the manufacturer on the packaging, that is, the thinner intended for this range. Apply in thin coats and let each one dry; light subdued tones cover more slowly, so reckon with more passes. Wash and degrease the surface beforehand, as the paint beads up on greasy plastic.
The bottle of paint in the shade named is supplied on its own. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and varnishes are not included, unless stated otherwise.
