The green locomotive finish in its later form is offered by Loco Green Late, an acrylic shade from the Lifecolor railroad group.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Lifecolor shade for the green finishes of railroad vehicles, and specifically in the later variant: the name says so with the word Late, and an earlier counterpart belongs with it in the range. The difference between the early and the late green tends to be fine, but with a model of a particular vehicle it decides whether the period is right.
What it suits
Working with the shade
A darker green has a tendency to look flat on a model. It helps to brighten the horizontal surfaces with a somewhat lighter tone and, on the contrary, to leave the lower parts and the shadowed places darker; a model gains by that the volume a perfectly uniform finish would not give it. The engraved lines are then pulled out by a dark wash, and the soot on the roof is matched by dark dust applied with a dry brush.
The paint is applied with the brush and the airbrush alike; for large areas with an airbrush rather, and in thin coats. Shake the container properly before work, so that all the parts have the same tone when you paint them in several sessions.
For railroad modelers who are building a particular vehicle and need to distinguish a later finish from an earlier one, and for builders of dioramas on railroad subjects.
Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a ventilated area.
