A single bottle of acrylic modeling paint from the palette of the Italian manufacturer Lifecolor. The Italian name of the shade translates as pearl gray, that is a light gray with a fine warm cast that stands closer to white than to a medium gray. The word Satin in the name gives the degree of sheen, that is a satin surface between matte and gloss.
Very light grays have a special role in a palette. They are used not only on their own, but mainly as a starting tone from which a surface is graded toward shadow. The difference between a light and a medium gray is more legible on a model than the same difference between two dark shades, so they work well on large smooth surfaces where there would otherwise be nothing to read. Pearl gray is moreover not cool, so the scene does not slide into a bluish tone. A satin surface keeps the impression of a cared-for finish and at the same time does not lose the drawing of the edges.
The paint suits modelers who build a palette tone by tone and need a particular light warm gray. It finds use in railroad modeling, on dioramas and on models of machinery with light surfaces.
Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a well-ventilated area and follow the instructions on the packaging.
