USMC Helicopter Colors 1970s-2020s (4x 17ml)

USMC Helicopter Colors 1970s-2020s, a paint set for helicopters

A set of four bottles from the Real Colors range by AK interactive, put together for the helicopters of the United States Marine Corps. The span of years given in the name shows that the set covers a longer period, that is more than one scheme, which is useful with helicopters because the machines served for decades and their finishes changed during that service.

What the set is for

You will reach for it when building transport, attack and heavy helicopters of the Marine Corps. Helicopters are a rewarding subject precisely because their finish tends to be restrained and the result is decided by the cleanness of the paintwork and the work on wear: exhaust staining, rubbing around the doors and step surfaces, and faded areas on the top of the fuselage.

Application tips

• Shake each bottle thoroughly before use.
• An even base coat is essential on single-color machines, as any unevenness shows at once on a large surface.
• Concentrate the wear where it arises in reality: around the doors, the step surfaces and behind the exhausts.
• Use the paints from the set together and do not mix them with products from other systems.
• Choose the thinner that the manufacturer recommends for this range.

Who the set is for

For modelers of modern helicopters who want the shades for the subject in one place, and for those building several machines from different periods who need to cover a longer span of time in a single purchase. The set is also a good basis for a palette that you then complete with individual bottles from the same range.

Safety: work in a well-ventilated space, keep the paint out of the reach of children and follow the instructions given on the packaging.
