A fine sheet with lengthwise V-grooves every 0.64 mm. Only half a millimeter thick, format 15 x 30 cm.
Responsibility details are not available.
The lengthwise V-shaped grooves follow one another every 0.64 mm, which is the conversion of twenty-five thousandths of an inch. The sheet is half a millimeter thick, so it can be cut with scissors, bent over the edge of a ruler and glued even onto a curved surface. The longer side of the sheet measures thirty centimeters, the shorter fifteen.
In 1:72 scale one groove corresponds to a strip 4.6 cm wide, in 1:48 to three centimeters and in one thirty-fifth to only 2.2 cm. This is the material for the floor of a cab, the bed of a truck, the cladding of a ship superstructure in a small scale or the wall of a crate. Where a coarser grid would immediately give away the wrong scale, this spacing holds the scene together.
A thin sheet deforms easily with heat, so do not bond it with super glue over a large area all at once. It is better to apply a thin layer of liquid cement along the edges and weigh the surface down with a book until the joint has dried. When cutting, lead the knife parallel with the grooves, or the blade will slide into a groove and the cut will wander. Apply the paint thinned; a thick coat fills the grooves and the texture disappears. The remaining offcuts come in handy for small things: a strip two millimeters wide makes a hatch, a small crate or the lid of a box with a wooden surface.
