Water Tint - Murky

Water Tint, a murky tinting color for model water

A concentrated color from the American maker Woodland Scenics in a bottle with a volume of 59 ml. It is not an opaque paint for models but a tinting medium: it is added drop by drop into the pouring and surface water media of the same maker. The murky shade captures water with sediment and deposits, that is swamps, rivers in flood, harbor basins, flooded pits and puddles on dirt roads. Thanks to it a surface loses its glassy clarity and gains believable depth.

Use

• Add drop by drop into the mixed medium and stir as you go.
• Dose it gradually, as the cloudiness can only be strengthened and you will not get it back.
• Combine it with a dark bottom, as with murky water it is precisely the suppressed view through that makes the impression of depth.
• Suitable for thin layers, puddles and muddy traces left by tracks in a diorama too.
• Try the shade first on a sample with the same thickness of layer as in the scene.

Who it is for

For builders of dioramas with muddy terrain, wetlands and churned roads and for modelers of military vehicles who finish bases with flooded ruts and fords.

The color is highly concentrated and stains strongly, so protect your mat and your clothing. Keep out of the reach of children and avoid contact with the eyes.
