About product

Mr.Paint Blue Grey M-485 – Lacquer Modeling Shade

Mr.Paint Blue Grey M-485 is a solvent-based acrylic lacquer paint from Mr.Paint. It reproduces the blue-gray M-485 shade that belonged to the early camouflage scheme of US Navy carrier aircraft used up to 1942. The paint is pre-thinned and ready to spray with an airbrush straight from the bottle, forms a fine, fast-drying coat with a semigloss finish and excellent coverage. The standard package is 30 ml.

Use

  • applied exclusively with an airbrush – it is not intended for a brush or as a spray can
  • spraying over a primer in thin coats at roughly 10–25 PSI is recommended
  • if needed, it can be thinned with lacquer thinner from the same brand
  • suited to the early scheme of US Navy carrier aircraft from the start of the Second World War
  • dries quickly, which makes layering and smooth work easier

Who It Is For

The paint is intended for modelers building American carrier aircraft from the early Second World War who want the authentic M-485 blue-gray shade of the early US Navy scheme. It will be appreciated most by builders used to an airbrush and lacquer paints who want a fine spray and an authentic result. It is not suitable for beginners without an airbrush.

A solvent-based lacquer product — highly flammable. Spray only with an airbrush in a well-ventilated area or a spray booth, use a respirator and protect your skin and eyes. Keep away from children, open flame and heat sources.
