Tamiya XF-65 Field Grey (Enamel) is a matte enamel (synthetic, solvent-based) modeling paint in a 10 ml bottle — the gray-green feldgrau of German infantry uniforms. It is thinned with X-20 thinner; do not confuse it with the acrylic version of the same number.

This is a modeling paint, not a kit. Specifically an enamel, that is, a solvent-based (synthetic) paint from Tamiya in a bottle holding 10 ml. The XF line designation means a matte surface — the paint dries to a velvety matte shade with no gloss, which is exactly what you need for uniforms and military vehicles. The shade Field Grey is the gray-green feldgrau; the manufacturer describes it as the green intended for the uniforms of the German Wehrmacht of the Second World War. Count on it being a green with a gray cast, not a pure gray.
This variant of XF-65 is an enamel and is thinned with X-20 enamel thinner (without the letter A). Do not confuse it with the acrylic version of the same shade number — that one is water-thinnable and works with X-20A thinner. Both ranges are sold side by side under the same shade designation, but the thinners are not interchangeable. For spraying the manufacturer recommends adding roughly 2 parts of thinner to 10 parts of paint.
For figure painters and builders of dioramas on German subjects who work with enamel paints and want a durable, matte layer with a long working time. Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, the pigment settles at the bottom.
Safety: flammable. It irritates the airways: work in a well-ventilated area and use respiratory protection when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children.
