This is a printed circular base under a model from the maker Coastal Kits, not a kit. On a rigid plastic board the roundel of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) is printed photorealistically, so a finished model can be displayed effectively on a themed base straight away. The base is fitted with a laminated matte surface resistant to water and abrasion which does not fade.
It serves as a display base under aircraft models and others. You stand the model directly on the print with the national insignia and so gain a uniform, clean background for photography and for a display case without having to build a diorama. The circular format suits above all a single model or a smaller composition.
It is enough to lay the base on a flat surface and place a finished model on it. The surface can be wiped with a damp cloth. If you want to fix the model in place, use double-sided adhesive pads so that the print does not get damaged. It is worth combining the base with a suitably matching backdrop.
