A model of a military motorcycle from the AIM Fan Model range, listed under the designation MV-650.
Responsibility details are not available.
The motorcycle was ordinary equipment with the armies of the twentieth century. It served for communication, for reconnaissance and for escorting columns, because it got where a larger vehicle would have had trouble passing, and its rider had a good view of the surroundings. Military versions differed from civilian machines in their brackets for gear and weapons, a subdued finish and modifications for riding off the road. In a scene such a vehicle works well: it brings movement in and, beside large vehicles, it serves as a scale reference.
The item is listed under the designation MV-650 as a military motorcycle from the AIM Fan Model range. On a vehicle this small, what matters is the fineness of the parts around the handlebars, the frame, the fenders and the saddle; it is by those that a motorcycle is recognized at first glance and it is those that decide how the model looks close up.
On its own a motorcycle takes up little room on a shelf and is easily lost, so it looks best paired with a figure or beside a larger vehicle. A glazed display case will protect it from dust; without one, dust it now and then with a soft brush, because wiping with a cloth does no good to small parts and thin projections. Do not display the model in direct sunlight, as long exposure suits neither the paints nor the small parts.
For collectors of military equipment and for modelers looking for a small vehicle for a scene as a complement to larger machines. A base, a display case and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
