This is not a tank kit but an add-on set of photo-etched metal meant to refine one. It relates to a model of the German Pz.Kpfw. V Panther medium tank in the Ausf. G version, that is the Sd.Kfz. 171, in 1:35 scale. The manufacturer is the Polish company Aber, known for its extensive photo-etched sets for military vehicles. The Panther was a German medium tank of the Second World War with markedly sloped frontal armor and a long 7.5 cm gun. The Ausf. G version was the most numerous and carried a series of production simplifications, among them a revised shape of the hull sides. On a model this shows chiefly in the areas that on the real vehicle were made of thin sheet and mesh: the fenders, the engine deck covers, the brackets and the fittings. It is precisely these areas that plastic parts simplify for reasons of manufacture.
Plan the work out in advance and go through the instructions before you start gluing the hull, because a number of photo-etched parts go on at a stage when the model is still open. Cut the parts out with a sharp blade on a hard surface and make the bends on a bender, on long edges always along the whole length at once. Use cyanoacrylate glue in the smallest possible amount and apply it with a pin, as the excess leaves a white bloom. Treat the metal surfaces with primer before painting. Deal with the running gear and the interior details before closing the hull up, and build the weathering only on a finished surface protected with a clear coat: dust pigments and muddy effects come out best on exactly these thin photo-etched edges.
