The Gundam 00 series belongs to the newer branches of the extensive Japanese franchise about piloted combat machines. The title robot is built around a pair of drive units on the shoulders, and in the combined form a further supporting structure with wing elements is added to it. The result is more complex and more sprawling in shape than the basic machine, and that is exactly why it is a popular subject: it looks good in a dynamic pose and offers large areas for separating colors.
With a robot of such complex shape it pays to build in subassemblies and paint them separately while they are still accessible. White surfaces are merciless toward sprue gate marks, so give the leveling plenty of time and sand a little further rather than less. Pick out the engraved lines with a dark shade and a sense of restraint; an overly dark net of lines takes size away from the model. If you plan to set the robot in a dramatic pose, check its stability before the final overcoat and allow for a base if need be.
The package holds an unassembled model without a finish. Do not look in it for the paints or tools you will need, unless stated otherwise.
