Brass micro tube 1.0 x 0.8 mm, 305 mm long, drawn, with a wall a tenth of a millimeter thick.
Responsibility details are not available.
A drawn brass tube with an outside diameter of 1.0 millimeter and a through hole of 0.8 millimeter. The wall is therefore a mere tenth of a millimeter, and yet the section holds its shape. The length is 305 millimeters and the item is sold in single pieces.
Most often it replaces plastic parts that are meant to be hollow: machine gun barrels, exhaust openings, pitot tubes, antennas, handles or the hydraulic lines of landing gear. Unlike plastic, the end can be trued up and the inside stays genuinely open, so a barrel does not look like a blind pin. Brass can be soldered, so several pieces will even make a load-bearing structure.
Do not shorten the tube with side cutters, as they would flatten it. It works best to dig the edge of a knife into the wall and turn the material slowly underneath it until it breaks off by itself. A burr inside is trued up by the tip of a larger drill turned in your fingers. Degrease the surface before gluing and before painting, as drawn brass carries traces of lubricant and a coat would not hold on it. Neighboring sizes fit into one another telescopically, so tapering transitions can be built up.
The size given in the designation is the outside and the inside diameter in millimeters, not the length. The length is the same across the whole range.
