A collector model of the American guided missile cruiser USS Ticonderoga with the hull number CG-47 in 1:1250 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The USS Ticonderoga was an American guided missile cruiser and the prototype ship of the class of the same name. She entered service at the beginning of the 1980s and her main task was the air defense of a task force. She carried the Aegis combat system, whose radar with fixed faces on the superstructure watches the airspace without turning an antenna and can track a great many targets at once. It is precisely those flat radar walls on the sides of the superstructure that are the most conspicuous recognition feature of the whole class and they are clearly apparent on the model as well.
The model captures the ship in 1:1250 scale, which is established for collections of warships precisely because it holds a whole fleet at one size and in reasonable dimensions. A cruiser around one hundred and seventy meters long works out at roughly fourteen centimeters in it, so even a sizable collection fits side by side and the individual classes can be compared with one another.
Place the model in an enclosed display case or on a shelf out of the reach of direct sun, which changes the shades of the surface over time. Remove the dust with a soft brush, as a damp cloth would tear off the fine lettering. When carrying it, take hold of the model by the hull, never by the mast, the antennas or the gun turrets, which are very small at this scale.
A display case, a base and paints are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
