1:144 Armstrong Whitworth Argosy, 200 Series is a plastic kit of the civil variant of the British cargo aircraft from Mikro Mir.
Responsibility details are not available.
A short-run injection-molded kit of the civil variant of the four-engine turboprop cargo aircraft, specifically the 200 Series. The civil machines differed from the military form in equipment and in being painted in operators' colors, but the basic layout with the tail booms stays the same.
The Argosy was created as a cargo aircraft with a high-mounted wing, four turboprop engines and two booms, between which the rear of the fuselage was left free for loading. The civil 200 Series was a reworked variant compared with the first machines, intended for cargo operators; the changes concerned above all the structure of the wing and the usable cargo space, and only a small number were built. The aircraft served on cargo routes in Europe and overseas, where the ability to load bulky consignments quickly came into its own.
Glue the tail booms on a flat surface and keep checking whether both sides are symmetrical; propping the parts up while they dry is worth it. The fuselage of cargo machines tends to be markedly busy, so sand the joints and check them with filler primer before the final finish. Civil schemes are usually smooth and glossy, which is demanding on the quality of the base; expect sanding between coats. Lay the extensive operator decals on a gloss coat and use a decal softener so that they bed into the engraved lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
