Decals of Hungarian national insignia and number series for the MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-19, MiG-21 and MiG-23 in 1:144 scale from HAD models. A sheet of insignia and numbers rather than a complete color scheme.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet of wet decals holds the national insignia and number series used by the Hungarian Air Force in the postwar period, and it is graded in size for the MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-19, MiG-21 and MiG-23 jet fighters in 1:144 scale. It is neither a kit nor a complete scheme for one particular machine: the sheet serves as a stock of insignia and numbers from which the modeler makes up the markings according to the references available.
The five types named represent the line of development of Soviet jet fighters, from the subsonic MiG-15 with a swept wing, through the MiG-17 and the supersonic twin-engine MiG-19, to the MiG-21 with a delta wing and the MiG-23 with a variable-geometry wing. All these types were operated in Hungary and all are offered in 1:144 scale by several kit manufacturers.
Unify the base first with gloss clear coat, on which a decal holds without silvering. Cut the individual insignia out close to the printing, dip them in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let them rest until the film releases from the backing. Slide the insignia into place, soak the surplus water up and adjust the position with a brush. Because these are roundels and numerals, pay attention to how symmetrical they are against the fuselage and the wing, as an insignia that is set unevenly shows at a glance on a finished model. Finally fix the area with a matte or semi-matte varnish.
This is a decal sheet in its own right, not a kit. The model, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
