Metallic Details 1:144 Russian concrete fence of the PO-2 type is a resin diorama set of fence slabs and footings for building the fencing of an airfield or a compound. It is not a model of equipment, but an element of scenery.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin castings that reproduces the standard reinforced concrete fence designated PO-2. The package contains separate fence slabs and the matching footings for them, so you put the fencing together in any length and can even lead it around a corner or interrupt it with an entrance. The manufacturer states eight slabs and nine footings. The set is not a model of an airplane or a vehicle; it is an element of scenery for dioramas in 1:144 scale.
Precast concrete fences of this type are among the most widespread building elements of the Eastern European environment. They consist of individual cast slabs set into separate footings, so they could be erected and taken apart quickly. They enclosed airfields, repair and storage compounds, factories and construction sites, and in many places they still stand today. That is why you will meet them on dioramas in scenes from the postwar period right up to the present, in civilian and military subjects alike.
First wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that residues of release agent are removed, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting remnants off with a saw or sand them away; protect your breathing when sanding resin and work wet. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Concrete is painted from a gray base, over which fine mottling of lighter and darker patches is applied, then a dark wash in the joints and finally a dry brush on the edges. Green and rusty staining at the foot and fine dust pigments link the fence to the terrain.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
