Aber 1:144 set of turned barrels for the American Fletcher class destroyer replaces the plastic barrels with faithful metal parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set of turned metal barrels from Aber in 1:144 scale, with small photo-etched parts added. It is not a ship model but an accessory that replaces the plastic barrels of the armament of the American Fletcher class destroyer with faithful metal parts. The set covers the barrels of the 127 mm main guns as well as the barrels of the 40 mm and 20 mm antiaircraft cannons.
The Fletcher was the most numerous class of American destroyers of the Second World War, deployed in the Pacific and in the Atlantic alike. Its armament consisted of dual-purpose 127 mm guns backed up by a light antiaircraft defense. Turned barrels have a perfectly straight axis and a thin muzzle that plastic cannot manage.
Simply clean the metal barrels up where they were cut off and bend the small photo-etched parts over a rule. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Lay down a primer suitable for metal before painting so that the paint holds well, and spray in thin coats.
This is a turned detail accessory, not a ship model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
