Aber — clamps and brackets for the tow cables of the Tiger I and the King Tiger in 1:16 scale is a photo-etched set of metal details for large models of the German heavy tanks.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched metal parts from the Polish manufacturer Aber in 1:16 scale. It holds the clamps, brackets and holders with which the tow cables and the track cables for changing tracks were fixed to the hulls of the Tiger I and King Tiger (Tiger II) tanks. It is not a stand-alone model but an upgrade accessory for large kits of these machines.
The Tiger I and King Tiger heavy tanks carried a wealth of equipment on the hull: massive steel tow cables, cables for pulling tracks on and tools, all of it held in precisely shaped clamps and brackets. It is exactly these small holders that on plastic kits tend to be simplified or molded in one piece with the hull; a photo-etched replacement gives them back the scale fineness that the large 1:16 scale reveals mercilessly.
Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface and clean the edges up with a fine file. Make the bends with a ruler, tweezers or a photo-etch bender, and gluing is most reliable with cyanoacrylate glue in small amounts. Before painting, degrease the metal parts and prime them, otherwise the paint holds badly. The fitted clamps then only need weathering along with the rest of the hull using a wash and pigments.
An accessory set; the base tank kit, the tow cables, glue and paints are not included in the package.
