Aber – an 88 mm KwK 36 L/56 barrel for the Tiger I, early form (1:16) is a turned metal replacement for the barrel of the German gun for a faithful detail on a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This turned metal barrel from the Polish maker Aber in 1:16 scale replaces the plastic barrel of the German tank gun of 8.8 cm caliber, the KwK 36 L/56, in the early form for the Tiger I heavy tank. It is not a model but a detail accessory with a perfectly round cross section and an accurate muzzle.
The 8.8 cm KwK 36 L/56 gun was the main armament of the Tiger I and was among the most effective tank guns of its day. The barrel length L/56 means 56 times the caliber. The early form goes with a muzzle brake of the matching type.
Separate the metal barrel and glue or fit it onto the plastic gun breech with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The turned part guarantees a perfect round profile, which plastic often fails to give. Degrease the metal, apply a primer and a matte metal paint.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
