A plastic kit of a special aircraft of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force derived from the Boeing 767 airliner, in 1:200 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force took two different special machines built on the basis of the Boeing 767 airliner into service: the KC-767J tanker, which refuels in flight, and the E-767 airborne early warning and control aircraft with a large rotating radar disc above the fuselage. Both versions are based on the same twin-engine wide-body aircraft with turbofan engines slung under the wing.
This is an unglued and unpainted plastic kit in 1:200 scale. This scale is chosen for large airliners and special aircraft precisely so that the finished model stays within reasonable dimensions and can be displayed on an ordinary shelf. The extent of the package, and which of the two versions can be built from the parts, are given in the manufacturer's instructions and by the illustration on the packaging.
With the large smooth surfaces of the fuselage and the wings it pays to spend time sanding the joints and polishing the surface, because every unevenness shows on a glossy finish. Apply the paint in thin coats with an airbrush; choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the paint manufacturer's directions on the bottle. Glue the clear parts with a glue intended for clear plastics so that they do not fog.
The set is for modelers who collect large aircraft in a single 1:200 scale and for anyone interested in the hardware of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Paints, glue and other materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
