This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese maker Fujimi represents a richly decorated dump truck in 1:24 scale. It is a so-called dekotora, a showily decorated Japanese truck; the subject is a decorated ten-ton Mitsubishi Fuso tipper. The parts are usually molded in gray, clear and markedly glossy silver, and colored clear parts for the lights, rubber tires and decals are included. The model is meant to be assembled and painted; it is not a finished model.
The dekotora is a Japanese phenomenon of showily decorated trucks whose owners fit them out with chrome, polished panels, paintings and a mass of lights. Decorated tippers of the art dump type combine a working chassis with striking artistic decoration of the cab and the body.
Glue the parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic. Keep fingerprints and glue away from the glossy silver and chrome-plated parts, paint the body over a filler primer and polish the gloss coat. Back the colored lights with silver for a better shine, and complete the decoration with carefully applied decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
