An injection-molded plastic kit of the racing Nissan Skyline GT-R of the BNR32 generation in Group A circuit specification, as the car looked in the 1991 season of the Japanese touring car championship in the Axia sponsor livery. The model comes from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa, who has been covering automotive subjects in 1:24 scale for a long time. The box is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Nissan Skyline GT-R BNR32 was built from the end of the 1980s and was based technically on the twin-turbocharged RB26DETT inline-six of roughly 2.6 liters, ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive and Super HICAS rear-wheel steering. In the homologated Group A form it received a lightened body, a roll cage, a racing suspension and revised aerodynamics, and in the early 1990s it was one of the dominant cars of the Japanese touring car championship. The Axia sponsor livery is one of the period team schemes.
On racing cars everything hangs on the quality of the paint on the body. Degrease the parts first, clean up the mold seams and spray them with a filler primer; sand small irregularities wet with very fine paper. Lay the color on in thin coats, apply a gloss clear coat once it is dry, and polish the surface before the decals. Set the decals onto the gloss surface with a decal softener and seal them with a further coat of clear once they are dry, so that their edges do not show. Mask the glazing with tape or with a liquid mask and use a glue for clear parts so that it stays transparent. Finish the engine bay, the chassis and the interior before you close the body up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
