A detail accessory for car models in 1:24 scale: twenty miniature push-button switches for instrument panels, center consoles and auxiliary panels inside the car. This is not a kit.
On a car model the interior is usually visible only through the windows or through open doors, but that is exactly why how clearly each element reads matters. Controls molded into plastic blend into the panel and, once painted, stay there as nothing more than slight ripples. A separate button, by contrast, stands above the surface, can be painted a different shade from the panel and casts a shadow that gives the panel depth. It pays off most on models with opening doors or on sports cars with a busy panel.
Paint the panel first and let it cure, and only then start fitting. Mark the positions with a needle and drill the holes with a micro drill bit to match the diameter of the pin — a shade tighter, so that the part holds on its own. Place them with tweezers and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue applied on the tip of a wire; excess glue is very hard to get off a panel. If you want colored heads, paint them before fitting while they are still on the remains of the fret or on double-sided tape. At the end take the sheen of the panel down to flat or up to gloss in spots, depending on the material the element is meant to represent. Work over a tray, as the parts are tiny.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
