1:24 Wheel set for the F4U Corsair and F6F Hellcat, the land-based version is a resin accessory from the manufacturer Reskit for large models of American carrier fighters. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft kit but a resin wheel set in 1:24 scale. It replaces the plastic wheels of a kit with parts that have a more sharply rendered tread pattern, a more legible hub and a better worked transition from the tire to the rim. The designation for land bases distinguishes this version from the variant intended for carrier operation, which the manufacturer offers separately.
The F4U Corsair and the F6F Hellcat are American single-engine fighters of the Second World War period, both used by the Navy and the Marine Corps and both deployed from aircraft carriers as well as from land airfields. The Corsair is easily recognized by its inverted gull wing, the Hellcat by a more robust fuselage and a straight wing. In 1:24 scale these are large models on which the landing gear is practically at the viewer's eye level, so the detail of the wheels plays a big part.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that the paint holds. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the contact surface wet and with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the tires a dark gray shade, not black, so that they look natural in scale, and add dust pigments on the sides and in the tread. Pick the hub out in a metallic or colored shade and prepare the sharp transition between the hub and the tire with a circular mask or a fine brush.
The set contains resin accessory parts only. The kit, paints, glue and decals are not included in the package.
