An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi. It covers the compact Mitsubishi Pajero Jr. off-road vehicle in the ZR-II guise. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, on sprues, with instructions and decals.
The Pajero Jr. is a scaled-down counterpart of the larger off-road vehicle of the same marque, intended above all for the Japanese market of the 1990s. It grew out of the concept of a small kei class car, but with a widened body and a more powerful engine, which means it no longer falls into the kei class. It keeps the classic layout with a ladder frame and four-wheel drive, the typical angular shapes, a tall body and a spare wheel mounted on the rear swing door. The combination of compact dimensions and off-road engineering made it a popular vehicle in town and off the road alike, and today it is among the sought-after representatives of Japanese production of the period.
Off-road vehicles offer more scope for work on the surface than sports coupes — you can leave the body in a satin sheen and add light dusting with pigment in the wheel arches and underneath. Set the plastic fender trims and the bumpers apart in matte black, so that they contrast with the paint on the body. Build the chassis and the interior separately and join them to the body at the end. Mask the clear parts and glue them with canopy glue. The tires may be of a soft material — in that case do not glue them with ordinary cement for plastic, but fit them mechanically according to the instructions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
