A set of stencils and decals for the Republic P-47D Thunderbolt in 1:24. The glazing is protected from two sides and four parts belong to the national insignia.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Republic P-47D was among the heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. The reason was a radial engine of over two thousand horsepower and above all the bulky turbocharger ducting led along the belly of the fuselage right back behind the pilot. Above seven kilometers that gave excellent performance, while down low the machine seemed ponderous until it got into a dive, where it outdid almost anything.
For a builder in a large reduction this aircraft is a combination of two tasks. The cockpit is divided into several panes with a fixed windscreen, whereas the sides of the fuselage are extensive smooth areas on which every marking stands out. That is exactly why it pays to spray the markings through a shaped stencil instead of applying a large decal film.
The package has two components. Beside two shapes that cover the glazing from the outside and from the inner side, and four parts for the national insignia, it also holds a sheet of decals, which supplements the markings unsuited to spraying, that is the lettering and the small technical captions.
On the extensive areas of the fuselage watch the pressure of the airbrush. Lower pressure and a greater distance reduce the risk of paint running under the edge of a stencil, but they increase the graininess of the surface, so try the setting on an offcut of sprue.
