The Peugeot 207 S2000 is a rally car of the Super 2000 category, that is, a car with all-wheel drive and a naturally aspirated engine, which made its mark in the second half of the last decade in championship rallies as well as in national series. The Ypres Rally is one of the best known Belgian rallies and is driven on paved roads, so the cars start on it in sharply drawn color schemes.
It is a decal sheet in 1:24 scale for the livery of the crew Debackere and Cokelaere from the 2011 running of the Geko Ypres Rally. The extent of the sheet and its layout are given in the enclosed instructions.
Decals of this kind are usually applied by the wet method: cut out the individual items, put them in lukewarm water for a few seconds, let them rest and slide them onto a gloss surface. Under a matte varnish the edges of the carrier film give themselves away, so it pays to varnish with a gloss coat and to matte the finish only at the end. A decal softener will help the decal settle into the recesses. Before you soak the sheet, though, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version; a soaked self-adhesive film is irretrievably ruined.
The set suits builders of rally cars who want to take a model into a specific racing livery. The kit of the car, the paints, the varnish and a decal softener are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
