A plastic car kit in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi. The model captures the two-door Skyline GTS-R coupe of the HR31 generation from 1987, the homologation version intended for circuit racing. The body faithfully holds the shape of the real car, including the characteristic arrangement of the headlights and the side lines, the interior matches the period form, and widened fenders with matching wheels are included.
The seventh generation of the Skyline, designated R31, was built in the second half of the 1980s. The GTS-R version was put together as a homologation special for Group A circuit racing; it was built in limited numbers, thanks to which it also reached private owners. It was campaigned above all in the Japanese touring car championship and is seen today as one of the notable achievements of Japanese sports engineering of that time. Widened fenders, a front spoiler and a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine belong among its identifying marks.
On a car model the paint decides. First rid the body of flash and parting seams, spray it with primer and look over the surface against the light, as every groove will be emphasized under glossy paint. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats, let it dry thoroughly and at the end polish it with gloss varnish, or with a fine polishing compound. Never sand the chrome parts and hold them by the casting blocks during handling. Finish and paint the interior and the chassis before you seat the body. Apply the decals only onto a polished gloss surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
