1:24 The Signal Set

The Signal Set 1:24 - Fujimi traffic signals

The set falls among diorama accessories in 1:24 scale, that is in the same scale in which most car models are built. In an urban scene a signal is one of the few items that settle the situation at once: a junction, a stop in a line of traffic or a night shot with a lit signal head. At the same time it is a vertical item that gives an otherwise flat scene height. The exact contents of the package, the number of masts and the way the signal heads are made are given on the packaging and in the instructions.

Use in building a scene

• Fit the mast into the base with a pin or a wire. A butt joint glued flush is the most frequent cause of breakage with a tall slim part.
• Check that it is upright right while gluing. A leaning mast catches the eye in a photograph of a scene sooner than any detail that has come out well.
• A signal head looks convincing when it has a dark inside and only the lights themselves are colored. A black cavity brings the contrast out.
• The effect of a lit lamp can be imitated with a clear paint or a drop of gloss resin, without having to fit lighting.
• We recommend evening the metal parts out with a matte varnish along with the rest of the scene, so that the signal does not look newer than its surroundings.

Who the set is for

For builders of car models in 1:24 who are putting together an urban scene or a display-case diorama, and for modelers who photograph their finished models and are looking for an item for the background. It goes well with road signage and garage accessories of the same scale.

The accessory is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
