An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa in 1:24. The boxing is aimed at the circuit-racing form of the AE101 generation in the colors of the Trust team, that is at a car from Japanese touring car racing. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with instructions and a decal sheet. The number of parts and the extent of the decal sheet are given in the enclosed instructions. Hasegawa makes this subject in several forms, which differ in their colors and sponsor markings.
The Toyota Corolla Levin of the AE101 generation is a compact coupe from the first half of the 1990s, created as a more sportingly tuned offshoot of the ordinary Corolla. In its day it was among the popular bases for lower-class touring race cars in Japan, where the racing was done with front-wheel-drive cars with naturally aspirated sixteen-valve engines. The racing versions were given a roll cage, a lightened interior, wider wheels with different rims and aerodynamic parts. The Trust team is one of the Japanese tuning and racing brands whose color schemes are easily recognized by model collectors.
Circuit-racing cars stand or fall with the cleanliness of the body and with the decals. First remove the parting lines and the remains of the gates, apply primer and spray the base color in thin coats. The sponsor decals of these schemes cover a large area, so prepare a genuinely smooth gloss surface for them and settle them with a softener, so that they follow the edges and the pressings. Once dry, varnish over them and polish if you wish. The interior of a racing car tends to be simple, which only makes a carefully finished roll cage, seat and belts stand out more. Take the sheen off the wheels and tires slightly; freshly sprayed rubber looks unnatural.
