Aviattic 1:28 five-color lozenge pattern for lower surfaces (faded) — a decal sheet with full-width printing of the light lower series of the German polygon camouflage in faded, use-worn shades.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Aviattic sheet in 1:28 scale carries full-width printing of the five-color polygon pattern for the lower surfaces of models of First World War aircraft — this time in the faded variant, that is with shades lightened and unified by long use.
The lower sides of the wings and the fuselage suffered from mud splashes, oil from the engine and the eternal damp of field airstrips. The faded lower series of the pattern is therefore an ideal starting point for modelers who want to weather a machine further: once sealed with varnish it takes oil glazes, brownish washes around the exhausts and dust pigments without losing the drawing of the polygons. It is precisely the contrast of fine weathering over faded printing that makes the lower surfaces one of the most rewarding details of a finished model.
Apply the decal in sections onto a gloss light base, and measure the position of the individual strips out beforehand according to the ribs. Let the softener work fully, and only then clear coat the surface. A matte finish will underline the impression of worn fabric.
A decal sheet is an add-on — the model, varnishes and weathering products are not included in the package.
