Decals with a fine wood grain for the large scales 1:32 and 1:48. Two A5 sheets with the texture of darker wood.
Responsibility details are not available.
German fighters of the end of the First World War had a fuselage glued up from thin strips of veneer. The varnish let the grain show through and each example thus looked a little different. In the larger scales such an area cannot be overlooked and it decides whether the model comes across as convincing. Few modelers can paint it by hand, but a decal film carries a printed texture that is transferred in a single go.
The fine variant is prepared for models in 1:32 and 1:48 scale. It comes into its own on the fuselages of biplanes, on propellers, on the ribs and spars visible in an open cockpit or on the wooden fittings of an interior. It also copes with the parts of vehicles on which the wood was planed and smooth. Two A5 sheets are enough even for a larger build with several wooden areas.
First prepare a smooth gloss surface in a light shade. Cut a piece of the film off to a paper template that you trace directly from the part. Lay the soaked film on in sections and keep driving the air out with a soft brush from the middle. On curved areas a decal softener and patience help, as the film has to be left to settle gradually. The color tone is fine-tuned at the end with an oil glaze and an overcoat of varnish.
Only the decal sheets are included. The kit, paints and varnishes are not supplied, and it is worth reckoning with the preparation of the surface taking more time than transferring the grain itself.
