A decal sheet with the lozenge pattern in the four-color variant, intended for models in 1:32 scale. Lozenge is camouflage made up of colored polygons that was printed straight onto the covering fabric of German machines at the end of the First World War. The sheet is printed with the texture of the cloth, so once applied it resembles stretched covering rather than a stuck-on film.
Painting several hundred polygons with a brush is work for whole evenings and rarely comes out the same on both halves of the aircraft. A printed sheet gives an even result and saves the preparation of masks. In large scales that goes double, because every inaccuracy on the area of a wing is visible both close up and from a distance.
First overcoat the base with gloss varnish so that no white patches appear under the film. Cut off the pieces one at a time with a narrow margin and soak them individually, otherwise the whole sheet will get damp in the water. After a few seconds let the piece rest until it can be slid off, lay it on the damp area and press the water out with a soft cloth from the center to the edges. Into recessed lines and over the ribs a decal softener helps settle the film; once it has been applied, do not move the piece any more. Finally overcoat the area.
For the modeler who is building an aircraft of the First World War period and wants uniform covering. Even a less experienced builder will manage it, provided they work in small areas and do not rush.
The package contains a decal sheet. The model, paints, varnish and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
