A sheet with five-color lozenge in 1:32 scale, printed with a canvas texture, for the covered areas of aircraft models.
Responsibility details are not available.
Lozenge is a pattern of irregular polygons that the covering fabrics of German aircraft were printed with during the First World War. It served as camouflage and in the five-color rendering it repeated across the whole area of the wings and the fuselage. Painting it onto a model with a brush or through a stencil is slow and the individual fields are hard to run into each other; a ready print solves that problem for the modeler.
The pattern is printed for 1:32 scale and carries a canvas texture, so the finished area resembles stretched covering rather than smoothly sprayed plastic. The modeler cuts pieces from the sheet to the shape of the area to be covered and lays them so that the pattern continues smoothly over the ribs and the seams.
The sheet is handled like a wet transfer. Prepare the base with gloss varnish so that the edges of the print do not turn white. Put the cut piece into lukewarm water, after a moment slide it off the backing paper onto the moistened area and settle it in position. Press the water out from under the print and blot it with a soft cloth. On shaped areas use a decal softener, which draws the print down to the relief, and let it dry undisturbed. Finally overcoat the area so that the transitions disappear.
The sheet alone is supplied. The model, paints, varnishes and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
