This item is not a kit of the aircraft but a set of replacement wheels cast in modeling resin for a large model of the Invader in 1:32 scale. In the larger scale the tread pattern and the shaping of the hub stand out, so the difference between a plastic part from the kit and a resin casting is clearly visible on a finished model. The set matches the late form of the wheels. The number of parts and the contents of the package are stated on the box. Before buying we recommend checking the fit with the kit you are building, because the attachment of the hub differs between kits.
The Douglas A-26 Invader was an American twin-engine attack and bomber aircraft of the end of the Second World War. It had a clean aerodynamic shape, a pair of radial engines and a laminar-flow wing, which gave it good speed. The type had a long operating career after the war ended as well, and during it the landing gear components gradually changed. That is exactly why add-on wheel sets are divided into early and late forms.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent, so that no mold release agent is left on the surface. Cut the casting block off with a saw and sand the surface wet with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate, that is with super glue. A tire looks more faithful in a dark gray shade than in pure black; separate the hub with a circular mask. In a large scale it also pays to bring the lettering on the sidewall out gently with a dry brush.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
