1:32 ALARM missiles is a resin add-on set from the Czech maker Eduard — ALARM anti-radiation guided missiles in 1:32 scale to hang on a model of a combat aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of an aircraft, but an accessory for one. The resin set from the Czech maker Eduard contains ALARM anti-radiation guided missiles in 1:32 scale, intended for the hardpoints of a model of a combat aircraft. The name is in the plural, so the package contains more than one missile; check the exact number of pieces and any additional material against the packaging and the enclosed instructions.
ALARM is a British anti-radiation guided missile developed in the 1980s. The abbreviation in the name refers to an air-launched anti-radiation missile. Its task was to knock out the ground radars of air defenses: the missile homed on an emitting radar and attacked it. A characteristic feature was the mode in which the missile climbed, loitered under a parachute and only set off to attack at the moment the radar began transmitting. Its main carrier was the Panavia Tornado of the Royal Air Force. It was withdrawn from service in 2013.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent before building, so that the release agent from the mold is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw; do not break them. They are glued solely with cyanoacrylate. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. The slender bodies of the missiles come out well if you sand them smooth before painting and spray a primer; small lettering then goes on more easily over a smooth, slightly glossy base.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
