A 1:32 decal sheet for the heavy fighter Messerschmitt Bf 110 in the C and D versions, three machines from 1939 and 1940, with a canopy mask in the box.
Responsibility details are not available.
The twin engine Bf 110 was meant to be a heavy fighter clearing the way for bombers deep over enemy territory. In Poland and over Norway it fulfilled its role; over England, on the other hand, it discovered that it was no match for single engine opponents in a turn. The C version was the basic combat form, the D version received an auxiliary fuel tank under the fuselage for long range flights. It is precisely this pair of forms that makes up the scope of the sheet, covering 1939 as well as the campaign of the following spring.
The oldest subject is the aircraft with the codes L1 and DY of the first group of a training formation, captured in East Prussia in September 1939. The second machine with the codes 2N and GB belonged in April 1940 to the first group of a Zerstörer wing and the name of Wolfgang Falck, later the founder of German night fighting, is connected with it. The third aircraft with the codes A2 and BH flew over France in 1940 with a formation that had a short existence and was soon re-designated. The three subjects thus cover the whole arc from the Polish campaign to the fighting over western Europe.
A canopy mask is part of the package, which on this type is no small thing, because the long greenhouse has dozens of frames and cutting them out of tape takes a whole evening. With the decals, make sure the base is glossy before application. The fuselage codes are large in this scale and with poor alignment every millimeter shows. The package does not contain the model, paints or a softener. Applying a decal onto a drop of water rather than onto a dry surface proves itself: the film can then be adjusted with a finger before the water is soaked up with a paper towel.
