A set of waterslide decals from the Lend-Lease line in 1:32 scale. It is aimed at the British Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire fighters, which served with the Soviet Air Force under Allied aid. Masks for spraying the national insignia tend to be included as well. It is not a kit but an accessory for the plastic model of your choice.
Under the Lend-Lease program the Western Allies delivered thousands of aircraft to the Soviet Union. The Hurricane was among the first types to reach the Eastern Front, and Spitfires of the Mk.IX version then reinforced Soviet fighter regiments later on. The machines were given red stars and often their own tactical markings as well, which makes them rewarding in color and less usual as subjects.
Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss varnish so that no silvering occurs. Dip the piece you have cut out briefly in lukewarm water, slide it off the backing and place it on the model; fine-tune the position and blot the excess water away. Use a decal softener to make them cling to the panel lines, and clear-coat the surface at the end. Lay the masks supplied on a clean surface and spray the color you want through them.
This is a decal set on its own. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
