This is a detail set of accessories, not a model of the aircraft. It holds resin engine intake covers (FOD covers) and photo-etched metal Remove Before Flight (RBF) tags for the American F-4E Phantom II jet fighter in 1:32 scale. The intake covers protect the engine intake against foreign object damage and on a model they make a typical feature of an aircraft parked on the ramp. Both the covers and the tags are shaped for the Revell Phantom kit in 1:32 scale.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II was a two-seat, twin-engine jet fighter with large side air intakes feeding the engines. It was exactly those intakes that were covered on the ground, with clearly visible warning tags.
The intake covers and the red Remove Before Flight tags give a model on the ramp a realistic look of being on the ground. The photo-etched tags are very thin and faithful, and the resin covers fit the shape of the intakes exactly.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks; bend the photo-etched parts over a sharp edge. Glue the covers with cyanoacrylate glue and paint the tags a strong red with white lettering.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The Revell base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
