The set holds a resin figure of a Luftwaffe pilot together with a pilot's seat, designed for models of the Messerschmitt Me 262A jet fighter in 1:32 scale. The pilot in period flying kit brings a cockpit to life and gives a model both scale and a story. It is made by the Aerobonus brand. This is not a kit of an aircraft but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers that raises a cockpit into a prominent feature of a model.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter put into series use, and its pilots wore characteristic flying equipment. A figure rendered in detail in the cockpit heightens the impression a finished model makes.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, carefully cut the casting blocks away and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. For the skin and the uniform, gradual shading, shadowing and fine accenting of the details work well.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
