An aftermarket accessory, not a model of the aircraft. Yahu Models supplies its instrument panels as a finished, color part that is used in a kit in place of the plastic panel or its decal substitute. The cockpit thereby gains legible dials and three-dimensional instruments without your having to paint anything. The set is intended for models of the Junkers Ju 87 dive bomber in the D and G versions in 1:32 scale.
The instrument panel is the first thing a viewer sees in a cockpit, and in the large 1:32 scale that goes double, because the cockpit tends to be easy to look into. Painting the individual dials by hand is a long job and the result depends on a steady hand. A finished part settles both the colors and the artwork of the instruments in one step and gives an even, repeatable result. Against decals it has the advantage that the panel is not flat: the instruments have depth and edges.
The part is fitted before the fuselage is closed, so allow for it right at the start of the build. Thin down or remove the original plastic panel as needed, so that the new part sits at the correct depth and does not foul the canopy. Glue it in spots with super glue or with a glue for clear parts, which leaves no clouding. Do not spray over the color finish of the panel and protect it with a mask when painting the cockpit. A drop of gloss varnish on the dials does them good, imitating the glass of the instruments.
This is an accessory for the cockpit, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
