HGW – a photo-etched engine set for the Mercedes D.III of 160 horsepower in 1:32 scale. Brass photo-etched parts for a faithful treatment of the German aircraft engine.
Responsibility details are not available.
An aftermarket set of brass photo-etched parts from HGW intended for detailing the Mercedes D.III engine of 160 horsepower in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane model but an accessory aimed at the power unit itself and its fittings – the piping, the fittings, the cooling and the ancillary elements that cannot be captured faithfully in injection molded plastic.
The Mercedes D.III was a water-cooled inline six, one of the most widespread German aircraft engines of the First World War. It powered a range of fighters and two-seat aircraft, among them the Albatros and Roland types. A faithfully treated engine is among the most striking areas of period models.
The fine parts of the engine call for accurate gluing with cyanoacrylate glue and patient painting of the metal and brass elements. It is best to paint the details before they are fitted into the fuselage of a model.
The aircraft kit itself is not included in the package. Glue, paints and tools are not enclosed.
